Project Year: 2015

THE PROJECT:

To protect the properties from external Flooding using the new Kessel Ecolift XL Duo designed especially for the UK Market .

Since 2009 16 no. of properties had been experiencing external flooding issues and the inconveniences of not being able to use the wastewater facilities in storm conditions, various method have been installed over the past 5 years to resolve this issue but due to the location and problematic wastewater problems a new solution was required. Durey Castings worked closely with Kessel , Southern Water and their term contractor to find a solution.

THE PLAYERS:

Southern Water approached Durey Castings for a s olution. In turn Dureys spoke extensively with Kessel in Germany and a solution was indeed found.

THE PRODUCTS:

The Kessel Ecolift XL Duo –

Lifting stations are often installed as a safety measure even though gravity sloped drainage is available. The disadvantage is that these systems must pump every single litre of collected wastewater. This leads to constant operation of the pumps, high energy usage, wear and tear on the system as well as nuisance noise. With the new KESSEL Hybrid Lifting Station, all these problems are solved.

The Ecolift XL Hybrid Lifting Station offers safe and reliable protection against backwater and come into service only when necessary - during backwater. The Ecolift XL is the new ideal solution for installation in gravity wastewater drainage systems - both for new construction and renovations.

THE POSTSCRIPT:

All the properties can now use their facilities normally. Curtilage flooding has now stopped and Southern Water have several newly contented customers. This project has literally changed the lives of many residents in the area.
